It has been oh-so-tempting to post things on my personal profile during this time. The possibility of reaching just one other person, providing a POV not considered…but as you say, that’s not why people hang out on Facebook, Twitter, etc. I know what you mean about the hyper-sensitivity of writers, Stacy, and I’m so sorry you’ve had to wrestle that beast. While the entire election cycle has been difficult, the past week has been particularly emotional for many of us. Glad to see that you are resolved to fight the good fight and soldier on. Hugs. <3

I too am very passionate about things and I feel them deeply. Over the years, I have gotten myself in a lot of trouble by expressing my feelings. Only because they come out very emotional. It’s not something I can control very well. Never apologize for how you feel Stacy, you have your right just like everybody else does.

Thank you! I still see so many things I want to post about and call people out on, but I’m working hard not to. People aren’t going to listen anyway. They see what they want to see. And you’re so right about it being an outlet.

I’m happy to hear you’re hopeful, and I’m going to work to be as well. I’m hoping the strong voices against all the bad things will take actions and act as safeguards, and that somehow we will come out stronger in 4 years.

I relate to this post so much, Stacy. It’s difficult as a writer to walk that line between business/life–and no matter how we try, of course the personal breaks through on social media.

The other thing is we are used to expressing ourselves in the written word, and with all the shenanigans going on, that’s our outlet. People only want to be heard. On both sides.

I’m sorry this election cycle has been so rough on you–on all of us. I’m also afraid of the future. But I’m hopeful, too, that all of this negativity has been exposed to the light, and maybe, just maybe, we can move through and beyond by acknowledging these problems and working toward finding a solution.
