Row80 Check-In: Adrenaline Rush

This is how I felt most of the week.

But it was a good feeling! After a late start, I ended up with just over 10,000 words. It’s been a tremendous help to have the scene by scene outline, and of course, the Row80 Sprints are great motivation.

I also had an epiphany about a series I’m planning to work on after the current WIP, and the adrenaline rush that came with it wasย exhilarating. It’s going to be an intense plot, and I’ve come up with a killer way to introduce the whole concept. I’m very excited and can’t wait to start writing. I’ve already done some brainstorming, but I’ve got to keep the current WIP as my main focus.

I’ll be going back to child care part time next, and Grace also gets her cast off on Tuesday – yay! Hopefully I’ll be able to stick to my 1600 words per day goal.

Some of my favorite posts this week:

Lisa Hall-Wilson: The Details Make The Story.

K.B. Owen: The Chocolate Diet. Heaven it is.

Make A Difference: An Interview With Melissa Foster.

How was your week? Are the Row80 sprints helping you? Have you tried one?

  1. 10,000 words! Holy cow Stacy! That’s fantastic! I have to start whipping myself to get my writing doneeach week. Good for you and your new idea sounds exciting!

    • Thank you! I’ve got so much going on this week there’s no way I’ll match that, especially since I’m leaving town Thursday. But hopefully I’ll do it justice.

Way to go – 10,000 words is AWESOME! No, YOU’RE AWESOME! ๐Ÿ™‚ I love a week with that extra oomph, because even if you don’t hit it again for weeks, you can’t be behind. And you got to spend that extra time on that great creative boost. I’m sure that you’ll be able to carve out a good amount of writing time once you get your new schedule all figured out. I know I’ve been working on that one myself. Keep up the great work Stacy! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you. I’m pretty happy about it, and it will help make up for the crazy coming this week. The creative boost was a real help and made me feel like a real writer, if that makes any sense. Good luck this week, and thanks for stopping by!

  3. 10k is fabulous, Stacy! Awesome on the new idea as well – they can be a total energy rush when they come. All the best for the coming week ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you! I thought of you this week when I went over 7K, lol. The idea was an energy rush. It’s really complex and will take a lot of fleshing out/plotting, but I’m excited.

  4. Stacy, 10K is absolutely fab. And aren’t the daily sprints amazing? I was out of the loop for almost 3 weeks, and I’m so glad to be getting started. Also, your new story idea sounds like it is going to be phenomenal. Can’t wait to hear more about it!

    • Thank you. Yes, the sprints are amazing. It helps me to be held accountable. Yay for getting back into the loop. That’s always stressful. And I’m really excited about the new idea. It’s dark and twisted, lol.

  5. Great word count. 10K! That’s just awesome.

I haven’t tried the sprints because, alas, they are during the day when I’m at work. ๐Ÿ™

    Love the kitty cat.

    • Thanks so much. I know it’s not going to happen every week – especially this one – so I’m basking while I can.

  6. Like everyone else, I am in awe of your 10K. Truly, it is inspiring! That kitty picture is so wonderful; what a bright, cheery opening for your blog post. With as much writing as you are accomplishing, I suspect there are a lot of epiphanies in your future writing, which is just tremendous. Hope you have another great week.

    • Thank you. As I’ve said it won’t happen this week because of time constraints, but the Row80 sprints have been a big help to me. It’s an awesome way to hold yourself accountable and gain support. Thanks so much for your kind words, too!

  7. Wow, 1600 words per day. Please crack that whip in my direction as well. I’d LOVE to log a 10,000k week! In fact, my dream is to finish this WIP before a May conference. But alas, we’ll see how it goes. Great week, Stacy! Keep going.

    • LOL. I’ll do my best. This week is going to be tough, and I’m sure I won’t log that this week. Just keep pushing away and doing the best you can. That’s all we can do:)
